What you'll see
Red Pillar is built around tall coral pillars rising from the seabed, draped in life — clouds of fusiliers and sergeant majors, angelfish picking at the coral, the flash of a passing triggerfish. Peer into the crevices for moray eels and cleaner shrimp, and into the blue for a cruising turtle. In 10–14m of clear, warm water (27–30°C, 15–25m visibility), it's the most colourful shallow site we dive.
Who it's for
Havelock's most affordable way to try scuba, without cutting corners on safety. Same shallow, sheltered conditions as our other taster dives — just at Red Pillar's coral instead of Tribe Gate's.
How it works
Arrive & meet
We pick you up within 5km of the jetty and introduce you to your PADI instructor straight away.
Safety brief
A short, jargon-free briefing — really just the breathing rule and a couple of hand signals.
Gear up
Mask and fins fitted, BCD checked, before you're anywhere near the water.
Your dive
20 minutes weaving around the coral pillars, instructor beside you throughout.
